For my first tutorial I decided to show you all how to make an Cinderella inspired headband! Though I have not seen the new Cinderella movie I have heard so many amazing things about it.
My daughter, Melaina (age 3), was so excited we were going to make a Cinderella headband.
Supplies you will need:
-
Silver FOE(fold over elastic)**
-
1 Allison White Chiffon Flower
-
1 Kylie Royal Blue Satin and Mesh Flower
-
1 Rachel Columbia Blue Shabby Chiffon Flower
-
1 Crystal 1in button(I used only one but you could use two)
-
1 White 2 1/2in felt circle
-
Scissors
-
Hot Glue Gun
-
Hot glue sticks
Instructions for Cinderella headband:
Measure and cut your EBTY silver fold over elastic.
There is a headband size reference added to the bottom of the tutorial. Remember to add 1/2 inch to account for gluing the elastic together.
Overlap the ends of your headband 1/2 inch and glue ends together. Glue the underside to the top side so they lay straight on top of each other. Press firmly.
To add the White Chiffon flower to the headband put a small amount of glue on the area where the elastic is overlapping. Press the flower down firmly onto the glue.
Glue the large felt circle to the back of the white chiffon flower.
Next glue the Royal Blue Satin and Mesh flower onto the side of the felt circle so the flower's are overlapping about 1/4 inch.
Now glue the Columbia Blue Shabby Chiffon flower to the elastic and the felt circle.
(I just used hot glue to attach the crystal btton to the center of the flower. You can sew it on if you like.)
The back of your headband should look something like the above picture.
Check the flowers to see if they need any more glue added to the felt backing. You want the glue to have a strong hold.
That is how we created my Cinderella inspired headband. Melaina and I had a lot of fun creating it together. Hopefully we will be able to go see Cinderella soon so she can wear her new headband. I hope you enjoying making this headband!

*Headband size reference for FOE:
{Premie} 11-12″
{ Newborn } 13″
{ 0-1 Year } 14″
{ 1-6 Years} 15″
{Child-teen} 16.5″
{ Adults } 17.5″
When you are cutting your elastic, I recommend adding about 1/2 an inch to your measurement to account for overlapping when you hot glue or sew your elastic ends together.
